Viking Coastal Trail

We travelled to Nethercourt Touring Park after work on Friday, a perfect place to start our 33 mile bike ride on the Saturday as it was just off of the Viking Coastal Trail.

The bike ride took us around the coast through Ramsgate, Broadstairs, Margate and Reculver, before heading back through some pretty little villages.  The route is fairly well signposted (route 15) with signs like this:

It's advisable to stick to what it says on the signs, otherwise you might end up doing something like this:

It's worth noting that some of the trail has limitations in peak season (from May - September) where you have to push your bike.  Thankfully, it's February now so this wasn't a problem.  The weather wasn't too bad and we even saw a bit of blue sky at times.

We found a friend for Amelie too!  We liked the colour of this one, we might paint our T25 this colour next year.

After a long day of cycling, we treated ourselves to a cheese fondue in the van.  Yum!

The next day, we headed to Broadstairs in the van.  It was so sunny and warm, we ate outside.

Thanks Amelie for another brilliant weekend!

Fridge

I bought some wrapping paper from Clinton Cards and it was the perfect size for our fridge door!  I attached the paper with PVA glue.

Fitting the lights

We made a start on fitting the LED strip lights today.  This is the actual light:

Sam cut a hole in the original top cupboard to make space for the new light switch.

We ran out of time to finish this job today, so this one is to be continued!

Vinyl stickers for the exterior

Eventually we are hoping to paint the van in blue, but that won't be until next year.  So until then, I get to have some pretty flowers!

These vinyl sticker were from Stickerbods on Ebay.  They arrived the day after I ordered them.

Windows and insulation

Last window in the hightop finally fitted!

Extra insulation in the back of the van and the the side panels

Insulating the sides of the van

This morning, Sam and his dad have been working on insulating the sides of the van.  As the insulation we took out yesterday had soaked up water and become rotten, we've put the new insulation inside  heavy duty black plastic sacks in case any water comes in.

For additional insulation, we also covered the wooden boards with this...

Finally, the carpet had to be re-glued with this aerosol adhesive we got from the previous owners:
